The actual fanbase has criticisms of the games, rightfully so, but there's also just an army of people who haven't touched the franchise in a decade plus and scoffs at literally everything the franchise does no matter what. The fact Legends Z-A released and still gets people saying "lol is the whole game just one city??? wtf happened to the whole adventure thing?" as if the entire point of and marketing of the game isn't specifically that it's a city on a scale bigger than the series has done before.
People just want schadenfreude and there's no consequences to it being based on incorrect information or without context. Case in point: "the entire game world is one model" is going to be still getting posted for months despite the fact we know that's not true and any level of critical thinking or experience with the game would show that.
