What the hell are you all talking about? The metagame was fucking trash in Gen 1 and Gen 2. Gen 1 Mewtwo was as bad as Mega Rayquaza. OU was literally 7 Pokemon, with almost every team sharing at least 3 or 4 Pokemon. Gen 2 was the bulkiest meta ever and Snorlax was as centralizing as Primal Groudon or Landorus T.

I honestly doubt any of you have ever played a single game in these formats.
