it does delve into its share of bullshit, pokemon with 252 EVs in every stat become very common, there's a very infamous...gauntlet, but overall the pacing is far better and the story more digestible (until the last 10 seconds of the game). the final gym and victory road are also very awful too. but there's nothing like prison arc or chapter 15 in reborn.
also outside of a few shitmons it doesn't feel like the game necessarily locks everything good to the end, though the beginning has more shitmons crammed into it overall

anyway as others have said, let's wait until we do the multi-playthrough to experience the shittiness
