Some C-tier open TV channel acquire the rights to air the anime, because no one knew how massive of a thing it would be, and boy did they squeeze every second they could out of the show, it would air within a kids oriented variety show, but before you could get to the episode you desperately wanted to see, the host would hotdog and grandstand for hours.
"Up next, a brand new episode of Pokemon... But first, this kid made all the pokemon out of Play-Doh, and then this guy will teach you how to dance to the pokemon opening song! Don't tune out, you little shits!"
