I've never experimented with this, and I'm amazed it never occurred to me. It could be interesting to swap between two different roms (or carts if you've got a dumper) to catch them all as you go along, rather than wait to trade after the fact.
I'm sure Yellow must be different somehow... would this just be offsets? I have no idea how the games are distinguished from one another from a programming perspective.
