Not allowing the meta to settle means that checks and counters can't be used.

Add to that the genies are around and you have no reason to say that Smogon is about a balanced metagame since you are destined to see one of the fucks every fucking battle. But that's okay because centralization is okay, but only when it comes to mega-pokemon.
