>>24721770I think these classifications make more sense for individual attacks and Abilities than Pokémon as a whole. Except Pivot, you just need 0 Retreat for that.
Articuno is a better example of a bruiser. It doesn't do anything fancy, just gives you a pile of Water Energy and attacks for 100 if your opponent leaves it alone for long enough.
>Gengar is like an assassin. It sits on the sidelines until you absolutely need something dead, and then it kills it.Gengar's more of a combo finisher. He can't kill anything by himself. He needs Bats or self-damage from Confuse. Gengar can't be a thing in a meta where there aren't giant EXes to hamstring.
Illumise is good if you're not just digging for more G Energy. If it gets oneshot by surprise, your opponent probably invested a DCE or some resource into that, and you can take greater advantage of it than you lose from a Prize.
>Walrein is situational. If your opponent can't get around Aqua Muk and Aqua Base, you win. If they can, Walrein never gets to set up.It's not like you force a switch and then Spheal just sits there while it's evolving. It hits back with the Energy it's bundling up.
I believe that DCE is a poorly balanced card on a basic level. Are we going to include it?
