While it is true that the text of 'Eggs are actually cradles made from the soil and earth' is a thing, it doesn't discount the idea of true eggs like those of Manaphy's, or even the eggs that are presented as curry ingredients in SwSh. When Cynthia implies that Arceus creating eggs is how all eggs are created, she might be referring to the whole cradle thing - the cradle being another reality that is cracked very soon.
While most people do not know where eggs come from, plenty of Dex entries directly state how some Pokemon make more of their kind, so those Pokemon could easily do what they're known to do before shoving their baby in a false egg because they saw other species in the daycare do it.
Who is to say that false cradle eggs were not based on true eggs, or that true eggs were evolved to resemble false eggs, or whatnot?
Larger Pokemon fitting into eggs and even being light enough to carry could be the same shrinking abilities that allow Pokemon to fit in Pokeballs - something theorycrafters will never mention because they will never accept that shrinking is a thing and would rather turn to being in a perpetual state of energy and data.
