>>48226166 Don't know if I have a fav, but these are the ones I like a lot.
Mainline: Crystal, HGSS
Console: Colosseum, XD, New Snap, Stadium games.
Crystal and HGSS have a lot of love poured into them. HGSS is the best pokemon remake to this day imo, it integrates Crystal's content without neglecting the 3rd version like ORAS and it's less barren than FRLG. Crystal is GameFreak actually trying for once, a lot of content for a 8 bit gameboy game. I like the Johto region, and it's pokemon. It's very replayable due to less forced handholding and cutscenes. It isn't a half-assed product, back then it's not like they had done it enough times to know these games sell like hotcakes regardless if they're dogshit or not. Also the games feel like pokemon journey, not a tourist attraction like the 3D games have been where they shove a cutscene every town, show off the regional gimmick and suck off Charizard's dick.
I like New Snap cause it's an improved Snap and has a ton of quality put in for a spin off sequel to an obscure game. The only nitpick is the ost isn't up to snuff.
Stadium games are like the Battle Frontier but an entire game, non stop battles with the pokemon you traveled with in your Gen 1 and 2 games. And they have some cool mini games
XD/Colosseum are competently made 3D games that mog Gen 8 to hell and back, and have a cool spin outside of the badge quest. The protagonists are a lot cooler looking than the mainline ones, double battles combined with trying to catch shadow pokemon add some challenge and thought to battling. Even though people complain about limited options and shitmons, the limited options I enjoy similiar to Black and White (not in the Dexcull way since all 386 pokemon are still available in the game's data if you want to trade or battle), it adds more thought to team building process instead of brute forcing it with the usual high powered easy picks. Also I admire that they didnt just make Stadium clones for gen 3.
