Ruby shoves Sapphire off of Tropius into the car, he also pushes Plusle and Minun off at the same time, representing Ruby abandoning his and Sapphire's partnership (though not abandoning Sapphire herself since that wasn't Ruby's intention). Either way it kinda gives Sapphire permanent trust issues afterwards. Plusle and Minun just fuck off back into the wild after RS though, probably since if Ruby/Sapphire caught each of them they'd technically get separated, and that'd ruin muh themes.
