Lads, I'm coming to you with some info that may be useful if you want to fuck with someone.
My group tested the theory of reporting a username with multiple accounts to get it to force change. We knew it worked for obvious offensive names like "niggerkiller69+ and so on, butt we wanted to test it on regular names like "Josh123" or whatever.
So first we found a target: a known spoofer. His name was pretty lame, nothing to consider offensive. We first had 5 of us report the username. Nothing happened. So we got a few more to help us out, ended up with 13 people reporting all within the same hour period. His username was changed to something like "Trainer45970430" the next day. He then changed it to his old name with a number at the end of it.
So then we tested it again on an alt my cousin made. The alt's name was "JustAnAlt1". We reported with exactly 10 people and he got the name change prompt and email later that night, roughly 7 hours after we reported.
We then tried it again on 2 more alts. Same results.
It appears that 10 is the magic number of reports. Not sure if there's a certain time frame the reports all need to come it at, but ours were always all within an hour. The name change happens after about 6 hours from the final report. Seems to all be automated because Niantic is shit with no failsafes.
So if we want, we here at /pgg/ can fuck with enemies or whatever. Maybe even poketubers, unless Niantic has them whitelisted or something.
