Having this big mystery area you're blocked from entering and you finally get to it and it's some Xenoblade looking world (minus the textures still looking like ass) with some spooky music was neat. But I think it would lose its impact on the player if it wasn't this dramatic shift from the main world of at least from like a first third of a game.
