Every gen has handled the Pokedex like shit, just to different degrees. Why did I have to get like 4 games and live in Japan to get every Pokemon up to Hoenn? Why was transferring up from Gen 4 to 5 locked behind a shitty, inconvenient minigame and the need for TWO DS systems, practically destroying any chance of mass transfer for an uncountable number of people? Why was a paid external peripheral needed for transfer from Gens 5 to 6, and from 6 to 7? Yeah, maybe Gen 8's situation isn't so bad compared to the utter bullshittery of previous gens after all.
