and then
-colour scheme of Gallade.
To put it bluntly, it would be hard to make that fin fit with the rest otherwise. Notice how Gallade's green became darker in its hue while his chest triangle moved farther into the red - designers knew how to make it work while keeping as much consistence with the rest of line as possible.
Also:
>Blue Stripe Have you seen any 3D model/anime presence/etc? There is no stripe, only much shorter continuation of the crest/fin. It is still flat and vertical, perpendicular to the green hair helmet. 'Only' Sugimori's drawing of him that remains as the Bulbapedo illustration gives off such vibe.
