I'm not saying it never changed, but whatever did change in the series matters very little to the fact that you were completely unaware that it was a brand. A commercial brand meant to sell toys and make money. If anything, the fact they're throwing a bone to the fans that never stopped buying sort of proves they're trying to give it a soul rather than the opposite.
