I don't know what format I want to play and move-autism is the problem. In OU I can have sets with event moves from Gen 3, TM moves from Gen 4, and basically use Pokemon that are impossible to make in real life but are technically possible and thus allowed on the simulator. I'll think "wow this is cool, let me think about trying this in VGC or maybe I'll breed it for my BSS team on cartridge," but wait a minute Tentacruel doesn't even fucking get Toxic anymore in Gen 8. My major problem I think is that I want to build one team, my perfect team that I can use in any kind of format I want, but the metas are different and if I take my VGC team into a Doubles OU battle then I'm at a disadvantage because I don't have transfer only moves or duplicate items.
tl;dr I don't know how to feel about playing in the fanfic meta using legacy movesets that are no longer compliant because my autism makes me fee like it's wrong.
