>>47598073This is by no means my ideal, but if they insist on keeping the chibi style for BDSP I'd much rather something like this. Proportions more like Gen 6 and LGPE.
Gen 8 is pretty close to my ideal when it comes to art style, first just get rid of the awful white rim lighting that makes everything look like it's drenched in Vaseline. Darken the outlines on models and maybe thicken them too, to look more like 2D Sugimori art. I never want to see the outlineless, smooth shading style that LGPE and BDSP have ever again, makes everything look like plastic. Pokemon designs and characters were always designed with cel shading and outlines in mind, so keep it that way. Stylize the overworld a bit more like Gen 7 with its brighter, cartoonier look rather than Gen 8's slightly more realistic look.
