>>50294648>I've always hated the way this franchise handles moving Pokemon between generationsGens 3-5 were the worst forms of moving Pokemon.
3 to 4 didn't require you to have a second DS, unlike 4 to 5. You just needed a DS with the GBA slot, of which all standard DS/Lite models came equipped with.
Didn't excuse the "daily transport" cap of 6 pokemon per transfer (which you could worsen if you changed the time on your DS' clock since it detects the change and treats it as if you just transported, so gotta wait another 24 hours). For a full living dex from gen 3 to 4, you would AT MINIMUM need two months to transport everything.
Gen 4 to 5 aleviated that daily cap, but you still had to jump through the hoops that was a logistical nightmare with connecting two DS and dealing with the technical bullshit with load times, saving, etc. with the only upside being that you don't have to wait 24 hours to transfer 6 new pokemon.
Gen 5 to 6 and then to 7 onward was when it became at least salvageable, but I still really didn't care for Bank mechanically, and I REALLY don't like how they are scrubbing pre-Gen 8 games from compatibility. It just feels intentional to keep to the schtick of limiting available Pokemon.
