>>45242512Probably because nobody really gives a shit about the pokemon you mentioned while starters are mandatory to take in the beginning, and have good stats, thus they should be pokemon you want to use through the game. That's the ideal. When it comes down to "your choices are a gorilla that carries a drum around, a soccer player rabbit, and a lizard with a fingergun that acts like a spy" it just becomes annoying. I miss the days when my choices were just an elemental monster, not a thing with a pre-made personality and a role to fill.
In a more subjective opinion I don't like the new artstyle pokemon has. While I enjoy a lot of the designs, even controversial ones like Eiscue, they have a more, I don't know, rounded and "Calarts-y" appearance?
