Later, Meloetta gets blind-sided by Team Rocket again and gets injured. Then it's pretty much Ash and Cynthia tending to Meloetta. From there, Meloetta just follows Ash around.
As to why she left, one of the Village guardians that protected Meloetta because of the whole ruins went to find her, and she decided to go with him.
