Both of which are primarily reproductive functions, arthropods don't molt to reproduce. Let alone the fact that it's a far less relevant subject for general knowledge. I don't decide what should and shouldn't be taught in schools, and I even asked pretty much everyone I regularly talk to around me that was available if they recall ever having arthropod molting mentioned in school and literally not a single person said yes. Maybe it's my country's school system being fucked, or you just have a very all-encompassing school system in yours.
