Syncro is the 5th move thing everyone is talking about. It seems that when I max out a Pokemon's stats in Amie, I unlock it. Starter has it so far. Works sort of like Mega. Your Pokemon gets an aura that matches their type and the 5th move becomes available. It has low PP, and its just tied to the battle, but you can activate it whenever you want in battle. All Pokemon of the same type seem to have the same options from what I can gather.
I don't have a pen and pencil on hand, but it is pretty generic. It's just a simple rat. Not really any way to describe it beyond that.
Rockruff shows off the syncro, and the starters are your first Pokemon to get it. That's... literally it.
Trainers are just Sun and Moon. I don't remember the other options.
