>>50275480You should've been mega-evolving it regardless, since walking your Pokémon gives you all the energy you need regardless. I've done maybe 6 Mega Venusaur raids, and look how much energy I've gotten from walking (not DeFitting). Once you evolve it once, all it takes is 8km of walking with it as your buddy (or however much it takes you to get to the next candy, 9km in Venusaur's case) to replace the mega energy used.
I guess this update means you can evolve it more without needing to walk it. From what I've seen in the datamine, however, spamming 30 mega evolutions will just make it go down from a 7-day wait or 40 energy to a 3-day wait or 12 energy, so not really worth it to do it any more than you would for free.
