Dang, I was hoping we'd go the knight route.>>14506425You look at the two remaining pokeballs. You can see both the Chespin and Froakie inside through the see-through top-halves. At a glance, they look like to be complete opposites.
The Chespin has his arms crossed, a sour look on what you would expect to be an always-jolly face, instead he looks like he's ready to beat someone's face in. Meanwhile, the Froakie appears to be some sort of lax, intelligent dork, the kind of dork that the Chespin would gleefully beat on any day of the week.
You look from A to B. Both of them look like feasible choices in combat, the Chespin seems battle-ready and would like to tackle things head-on, while the Froakie seems more like a person who would wait for the right opening, and then take it for critical damage.
But despite the Chespin's power, his typing is rather weak, he has too many weaknesses and too few strengths, but a good amount of resistances to compensate. On the other hand, the Froakie seems like someone that would be rather hard to get along with. Although his coverage is good, you have fears his stats won't be too high.
Really you just want someone who won't get in your hair in too much. Both figuratively and literally.
You look again, back and forth, back and forth. After the fourth or fifth time, you grow tired. Comparing them is too hard because they're such opposites. In the end, you just pick one.
"You don't seem like you'd bother me that much, right?"
An indifferent shrug is your response.
"Alright then! I've made my decision!"
In response to your shout, everyone else wakes up from their respective naps. You uh....took a while.
"Yawwwwn....wait, what!? I fell asleep! Ooooooh, I'm so sorry!~ Ah, wait, is it my turn? Do I get to have this one?" Shauna eagerly picks the final pokeball up, but before she can open it to coddle whatever cutie is inside it opens on its own.
