>>41841189The thing that really bugged me is that the Elite 4 unlocks after beating the 8th gym, but clearly isn't supposed to be challenged at that point. Like, the entire game up to that point is scaled similar to vanilla, with the 8th gym having an ace at level 40. Since it just unlocked, you'd expect the elite 4 to have a similar level, right? HAHAHA NOPE, they start at 55, go all the way up to 70, and unlike vanilla Red's joke of a team, they have actual competitive teams and movesets, meaning there's absolutely no way your ragtag team of 40somethings is going to bruteforce their way through. Even discounting the donut steels, it just seems out of place. Every trainer up to that point is nicely scaled and balanced, and then they just smack you in the face with that bullshit.
