>>23202571>Pokebank should be free. If it were 5 or 6 years earlier this shit wouldnt fly.It already did.
2004: Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire (Gamecube) released for $20, was bundled with memory card and GBA cable, lets you forever store and withdraw up to 1500 Pokémon from any Gen3 GBA game (R/S/FG/LG/E), supports hold items, lets you play Ruby/Sapphire on your TV without a Game Boy Player
2008: My Pokémon Ranch (Wii) released for $10, lets you store up to 1000 Pokémon, does not let you withdraw Pokémon that were deposited from another game card, supports only Diamond and Pearl (no Plat/HG/SS)
2014: Pokémon Bank (3DS) released for $5/year, lets you store up to 3000 Pokémon, prohibits held items, quickly got an update to add support for ORAS, will likely continue getting updates to support future Pokémon games, maybe even into Gen7.
I've used all three. Although the pricing for Bank is worse than Ranch (unless you intend to use it less than 2 years), I believe it's a much better deal for the functionality. It's overall not as good as Pokémon Box, but at least it holds more Pokémon and gives you better reward Pokémon.
While I would have preferred to just store it all on my 3DS's SD card rather than online, I don't think it's that bad.
