BW was the first Pokemon game by Famitsu to get a 40/40 and got good reviews all around by critics. Sales were on par for Pokemon games. If the bitching from genwunners would be enough to "break" Masuda then Dexit would've already been reversed at this point.
I have a ground breaking theory as to why the franchise started Kanto pandering after BW: the games made the jump to 3D and can't maintain adding 150+ new mons every gen, and the Kanto mons are most popular.
