I find the woods necessary in setting this version apart from the base game version. It also helps decompress the 386 involved.
The researcher's cabin from old versions is present, but the Old Rod will be located at Viridian Lake. I used to have plans for a secondary recurring rival, but have since decided against altering the story in any major way.
