>>39386436I don't like losing the fruits of years of catching, training, event attendance, trading, dealing, etc. There is so much goddamn time and energy invested into my collection, investment only worth it thanks to the promise of being able to transfer them to future titles. You know what I especially like collecting? Event Pokemon. Anything in a Cherish Ball, I fucking want it. And thanks to the culling, the bulk of my collection will likely not be transferable into SWSH.
And I'm not the only event collector, not even close. We're a niche, but we're not a demographic within the fandom who deserves to get fucked over. I bought SIX FUCKING COPIES of ORAS. Just to hold all the Wonder Cards they'd been distributing at the time. Two NA copies, four JP copies. When the shiny Arceus gacha happened, there were people buying up Hoopa movie tickets in droves just to get a shot at it. I knew people who spent well over $120 buying up the serial codes that came with those tickets. Those are the loyal people, the people that stick around and continue supporting the fucking games in-between hype seasons. And Gamefreak has betrayed that. No, letting them rot in Home is not good enough. Fuck off with that garbage.
Look, not that anyone here will notice or even care, but I'm not buying these fucking games and I'm likely only gonna be here until whichever titles succeed SWSH release. I know damn well they won't patch shit into SWSH. So if the next set of games pulls the same shit? I'm done forever. I'll leave quietly, shove my old cartridge with all my events into a fucking drawer, and I'll never touch Pokemon ever again. It's not the first time I've had to turn away from a franchise I dearly loved thanks to a change in direction. This one is much more painful, though.
