I don't care what others say HotS well respectably balanced for the most part. The same 5 tanks being picked/banned nearly every match got stale but for the most part teams could reasonably pick whoever they wanted, assuming there was minimal thought involved in drafting.
What really killed HotS was it being developed around quick play matches and the roster growing made it into an incredibly hostile environment where games were practically decided on the loading screen by whichever team had the highest raw stats and waveclear potential.
Not to mention Activision siphoning away it's staff for more lucrative products even when HotS was in a semi-healthy state until they barely had a skeleton crew to do periodic reworks on heroes that Reddit complained weren't good enough (for quick play (they don't play ranked))
