Just don't trust him to create good designs for things that are supposed to be regal and mystical (Pokemon legendaries) because there's no possible way his Western comic-book reading ass could pull that off.
tl;dr
If the Sword and Shield legendaries were one-off Gen 8 mons like Corviknight, people would be drooling over those as well. But the "legendary pokemon" title carries an expectation, and people got rightfully upset when they ended up being two edgy af dogs.
