Monotype Nuz or just a Monotype Run?

It'd make it challenging but I'd go for it if a region has a lot of the same types easily accessible.

If it's a standard run then go for it. I've been doing a Grass one in Emerald and it's almost Flannery time.

Despite every Gen having it's issues when it comes to the Map Design I think I know why Hoenn left such a lasting impression on players and gets classed as one of the best.

In terms of sheer variation we see a lot of different locations that visually are presented more easily than what Gen 1/2 could do. Deserts, Oceans, Beaches, Ash Fields etc.

With the addition of more colours and details we got a more immersive world to explore. The one downside I'll say is that the lack of a Day/Night cycle means that some areas really did loose out. I'd of loved to seen the Desert at night with different encounters and such been triggered by time of day or even weather in said regions.

The Water Routes are often shat on and I see why but as a kid these felt fun and the tedium from them now stems from us mainly been old enough to see the flaws more easily.

I'll always love Hoenn for the fact you can pretty much run around the entire map with next to no Gates/Transitions blocking your way.
