>>40437124>>40437087I feel like people who use this kind of awful argument don't actually play Pokemon that much, I was around on the days when both XY and SM swapped from only regional dex to allowing transfers from old games and it was a HUGE event both times. People scrambling for either getting their favorites from their old cartridges or bombarding the GTS to get their favorite Pokemon. Breeding and trading amp up like crazy since people want to try for shinies again in the new gen and the on-cart meta shifts entirely.
When people like you go "oh it's just box filler, who cares", you're blatantly ignoring the tens of thousands of people who only have a small number of favorite Pokemon they like from old games and have always transferred them for years and years. Dex cut fucks these people over the hardest and I guarentee you that as soon as the game comes out and the datamines drop the biggest news about SWSH isn't what Pokemon are in the game but what Pokemon are cut from it.
The go to domesticated response to this issue is "WELL JUST USE THE /NEW/ POKEMON" as if we don't have an issue doing that because we always knew we could get our old favorites back eventually, now that aspect is gone. I legitimately have no idea when I'm ever going to get to use pic related again because he's not a gen one shillmon and that really sucks.
