Technically the first Pokemon game I played was a word search around October 1997 as I recovered in hospital from complications from appendicitis (not the one I used as a picture). I was only vaguely aware of pokemon by that point and it inspired me to give the game a shot. I ended up buying blue a month after getting out of hospital.
