Ash's Lucario could have fight like this with Bullet Punch while using Aura to detect his opponent's movement & attack . Maybe some bounty hunters sees the error of their way and join Ash's friend circle.
Horizon could have started with a bored Ash encountering Liko who is being chased by a bounty hunter and decides to protect her and help her find a special group of people that her mother mentioned that turns out to be The Rising Volt Tackler.
I mean Lucario has this Shonen protagonist vibe on him.
