Always thought this thing was cool. I had one in silver way back in the day. caught in one morning by the lake of rage. such a crisp feeling. I love johto. Unfortunately I considered him really weak compared to my feraligatr and suicune so i stuffed him in the back of the team. I'm not sure if hes actually unusable or if I just didn't know the type chart well enough to utilize psychic types. He tagged along until the elite 4 where I hastily swapped him out for a victory road graveler that seemed like an upgrade.
I don't recall ever encountering another girafarig in the rest of the series. Maybe gen 6? but I already had the psychic starter. Oh well.

It helps that its a normal type card and the old yellow borders compliment girafarigs colors. Hes lucky that he got a card by Arita and one by Kusube, the two best artists imo, not every pokemon has that honor. apologies for the goofy screencap, idk where else I would find all the card art in one place. Seems I only own the first card and most recent but I'd like to collect 'em all.
