I'm sorry, I've never on this board, and I bet this gets asked/explained all the damn time, but I'm just going to ask in hopes of a direct explanation.
Super Training: What am I doing wrong? I guess I don't understand it. Here is what's going on.
I've new to the game (obviously) and haven't played pokemon since gen 1. I've had the game about a week. And most of my front liners are about lvl 60-70. I'm going to be visiting some friends in a few days, and I want to have my line up complete. With that in mind, I've always (even since the days of gen-1) wanted to have at least one "wut" pokemon in my line up. Something that isn't powerfull in it's base stats, but fully built. Because of my casual run ins with Smash Bros, I want to lvl up a Jigglypuff as my "wut" choice.
So, after discovering the Super Training feature (after ignoring it for 4 days, and missing the opportunity to use it for most of the game) I caught two wild Jpuffs, and bread them. From the Igglytuffs, I stored one at it's natural lvl 1 state, and began to work up the other. After a few hours of grinding, I maxed it out at the super training (got it up to lvl 8 first, for no raisen.).
SO with the super trainer, I up a good amount into HP, Speed, and Spc. Atk., and a tad in Def. On the graph, it beats out many of my other pokemon in health, and it's Spc. Atk. is strong too.
Then I began to lvl it up. I got it to evolve into a Jpuff at lvl 13 I think? Then I just grinded (ground?) my Jpuff until it's lvl 50...
And even with it's super training, it's stats blow. I know that not all pokemon are created equal, but the ONLY thing that seems good about it is it's health. At lvl 50, it has more health than my gyrados at lvl 60. Everything else is shit. Practically no stat increases when it levels. It's usually health +4, Spc. Atk. +3 (or so), and maybe one other thing +1. Half of the stats are +0 every level.
What am I doing wrong? Is it just impossible to get Jpuff to be worth a damn? out of type space
