>>38104895>>38104906Based. Sign of a true fan and I'm not even meming when I say this but your experience is 'almost' 1 to 1 the same as mine and you were only born 2 years after me.
I too enjoyed the fuck out of the first 3 gens, had an ok time with 4 but it did feel like a step down be it through fatigue or just me not liking it as much, played BW, hated it, absolutely despised the fuck out of it. Ended up dropping the game half way through. Didn't bother with BW2 either. I did however buy gen 6 immediately because despite being turned off by gen 5 I was hungry for some more Pokemon and gen 6 honestly delivered, I had a fucking great time with it. It unironically renewed my love of Pokemon, I liked almost all of the new gen 6 mons that got introduced (unlike gen 5 monsters), i liked the mega evolutions, i liked the region, i liked the switch to 3D and I'm usually fine with 2D games but it was a good transition imo.
Played gen 7 and enjoyed it a bunch too. There were some things I disliked, like I love totems but I wish they gave us totem fights as well as regular gym battles too. I like a lot of the gen 7 mons but not as much as the gen 6 ones.
Oh and as for gen 5, I did eventually go back and play the games just so I could form a proper opinion on them but I still dislike them completely despite playing white and white 2.
Either way solid taste bro.
