The Chespin introduction episode was grand, it's probably my favorite episode this saga. It was the last episode of the Clemont Development Arc and it did a great job of showing off Clemont and Chespin's bond, as well as having his dad make another appearance as Mega Ultra Chicken Man.
I'll admit, the Panda episode was shit, and the only reason I even rewatch is it to see Ash go full badass when he ran through the barrage of attacks.
But the Poacher episode and Sylveon episodes really picked up for me. Sure it was lazy on the writers part to rehash the Butterfree farewell episode again, but the episode was really well done and did a good enough job to show how great of a bond developer Ash is. The Sylveon episode was also a joy because muh shipping moments, especially with Froakie and Sylveon, and the battle wasn't too bad either, even though Froakie was fucked over.
If you really think the anime has gotten a little bad after the first 9 episodes, you should at least be excited for March when we get Malamar, Diantha, Battle Chateau, and Grant.
