I did these a while ago for a grass starter, although this is only the most recent design.
The idea was a grass lizard (Leafard) that grew a lot of leaves and then looked like a bush (Bushido). Finally the leaves compress into "scales" and it'd become an armadillo lizard (Shruberai).
In the first designs the final evolution would just be a quadrupedal dinosaur-look alike grass/dragon, but it looked too similar to Kommo-o so I added the samurai motif.
