My gym activity would involve guessing what Pokemon a feather is from based on the size and color. Guess right and you get a random stat boost for the following trainer battle, guess wrong and you get a random stat drop instead.
Oricorio is my favorite Flying-type, and its stats and gimmick would make it a fun ace for early gym leaders. But for the later game, I switch to putting Oricorio as my lead (for Baton Pass shenanigans) and Staraptor as my ace.
