>>55722131I’m starting to wonder if Dragapult might be a good idea, but Hydreigon works for two reasons.
1. The high level (effort in this universes it takes to train it would mean Koa might have a good impression of Hemlock at first if he knows he uses a Hydreigon.
I’m not quite sure what the twist would be, but Hemlock would’ve probably bought or bred or had his Pokémon trained by someone else because to him they’re just tools2. It’s just a plain good heel. Overcoming it is a possible task for Mo-o, both outcomes are possible. Even if Fighting beats Dark, Dragon still beats Dragon. It works out. Whereas a Dragapult would mean Mo-o would only be able to hit it with Dragon Claws, which might make the fight more boring than it should be (that’s also kind of a problem with Gengar, but I’m working on it).
I wonder if Corviknight isn’t industrial enough for this. Klinklang sounded interesting, but Hemlock needs at least one Galar-native Pokémon, right? (And I don’t mean that it’s in the dex, I mean it came from Galar).
Roserade and Toxicroak are interesting. Roserade would work very well to make Hemlock seem good at first, because who could think a flowery Grass type would hang out with a bad guy? Toxicroak is an interesting Pokémon to write fight choreography with, too.
Hemlock could use Roserade, Corviknight and Toxtricity as his “public face” team, and Gengar and Toxicroak when he reveals his true colours. As per Hydreigon,
I kinda have this idea where Hemlock would have an exhibition match with a Kahuna, and Hydreigon should be the one Hemlock uses in it to give Koa the impression that he should respect Hemlock at first.
