Usually when it comes to a major battle--or really ANY battle, you always go in too hot and put too much confidence and risk in yourself. You don't really /learn/ what the gym leader has up his sleeve until the moment they throw out their first Pokemon, leaving your strategy to be nothing more than seek out a counter for what they threw out.
>'I wonder if I could out-predict the gym leader this time...'In all honesty, that's easier said than done this time around. The gym leader's a wielder of the Psychic-type, once a vast dictator in the metagame, now...well, it takes out Mega Venusaur.
