Since Pokemon TCG types are a clusterfuck and Poison has now been changed for the second time, I decided to brainstorm a better system for typing and this is what I came up with. Instead of going by elements, this system would work based on environments, with each environment being represented by 2 typings.
Plain - Normal/Flying (Normal weak to Urban and Flying weak to Factory)
Forest - Grass/Bug (Grass weak to Volcano and Bug weak to Mountain)
Volcano - Fire/Dragon (Fire weak to Ocean and Dragon weak to Utopia)
Ocean - Water/Ice (Water weak to Forest and Ice weak to Mountain)
Factory - Electric/Steel (Electric weak to Mountain and Steel weak to Volcano)
Mountain - Ground/Rock (Ground weak to Forest and Rock weak to Ocean)
Utopia - Psychic/Fairy (Psychic weak to Dystopia and Fairy weak to Factory)
Dystopia - Ghost/Poison (Ghost weak to Urban and Poison weak to Mountain)
Urban - Dark/Fighting (Dark weak to Forest and Fighting weak to Utopia)
Plain (Get it, for plain Pokemon) is an environment that doesn't effect any elemental triangles and stands as the new Colorless.
Forest, Volcano, Ocean, Factory, and Mountain act as an elemental triangle and represent environments in nature (Yeah I know Factory isn't but it acts like a natural environment in the mainline games).
Utopia, Dystopia, and Urban act as an elemental triangle and represent agents of good, agents of evil, and those in between. Utopia is an environment of enlightenment and magic where all is pure, Dystopia is an environment of death and spirits where all is destroyed, and Urban is an environment where those who fight evil and those who cause trouble clash (Most Dark Types are Pokemon who have been influenced by Humans and most Fighting Types are Pokemon that work jobs, train with discipline, heroes like musketeer trio, etc.)
Plain
Forest < Volcano < Ocean < Factory < Mountain
Utopia < Dystopia < Urban
If anybody has any ideas of their own, suggestions, or criticisms, I'd like to hear them.
