Because they lacked rock typing their fossils did not stand the test of time and are incomplete. It's a cool as fuck concept and I prefer it this way.
THAT BEING SAID, the fact that 3/4 of these mons are living in eternal suffering is retarded. Only Dracozolt seems content with its existence. There was some really poor execution here in that regard.
