Rude and thuggush but also sorta nice. Like he respects your ability but also intends to kick your ass and intends to kick it at the worst possible times. He loves his Hydreigon to bits, though.

He forgets to order a starter from the Professor and manages to buy a Magikarp before you partially to spite you and also because the wild Pokemon outside the lab kinda suck.
He helps out with fighting the evil team, battles you in a couple unfair ways like at the very end of a cave or giving your entire team Toxic Orbs, the only item he gives is a fucking Toxic Orb.
But at the same time, he saves a Buneary's life, battles you a couple times fairly, assists with the efforts of taking down the evil team through battling and letting Hydreigon go wild on their various machinery and communication. He also intrudes on an interrogation of an evil team member and ,thanks to a particularly menacing glare from Hydreigon, gets important info from him with no harm done at all (Well, except for the glass his Hydreigon smashed through in order for him to intrude)
He ends up becoming a relatively decent dude, though.
His Hydreigon is surprisingly friendly. But can kick ass when necessary.
