pic related are the most bland, boring, generic white bread starter designs. They even have basic ass mono-types to go with how bland they are.
They'll all trash competitively too, and come from the worst region.

Fire/Flying mon that has a simple design but still is cool. Strong in double battles.
Grass/Poison mon that is a cool frog, great bulky and good movepool.
Solid Pure water mon that has access to some of the best moves in the game. Design could be a little better though.

Fire/Fighting mon. So fucking good it's been banned forever.
Water/Ground mon great versatility. It's mega is fearsome too.
Pure Grass type shit mon. One that relates to gen 2.

Does the Fire/Fighting mon thing again, only this time better. Access to best moves in the game.
Unique Water/Steel typing good bulk and nice design
Grass/Ground typing makes it somewhat weak but design is god tier

shit all around. Would be on the same level of shit as gen 2 except Serperior is their saving grace.

Fire/Psychic with a neat wizard design
Water/Dark Ninja frog, one of the best starters in the entire franchise. Ability so good it had to be banned.
Grass/Fighting Knight design is cool, has solid bulk and a cool ability.

Fire/Dark type done right. Solid bulk, great for assault vest, access to best moves in game. Design is good as well.
Water/Fairy typing, great design and good stats, good movepool too.
Grass/Ghost. Design is cool, movepool and stats are a little lacking but it's miles better than Gen 2 or 5 starters.
