>>54551166>>Heath's 'treasure' is fame, and he goes looking for it in Area Zero. He gets what he wants, but not in the way he wanted - he instead gets notoriety as a fraud, and while he does indeed go down in history, it's as a disgraceThis is the most interesting thing I've seen posted in these threads in a while. If we believe the wishmaking theory, then the running theme with Terapagos is the person getting their wish granted, but at some terrible personal cost. As you said with the professor, they get their wish to see the ancient/future Pokemon granted in exchange for their family and eventually their life. The professor also wishes for a double...only for that double to disagree with their original and end up being the catalyst in stopping the OG professor's ambitions.
I haven't done the DLC yet, but evidently Kieran wishes to be vindicated or something and it....very clearly doesn't work out for him. If we apply this same logic with Heath, who we know ran into Terapagos, if his wish was "wealth and fame", he got exactly that...for the price of being known as a fraud. He had every motivation to lie too--the expedition was backed by wealthy investors on top of the crater being the the very literal center of Paldean history. Everything was riding on it and if all he had to show were a tablet and a crop circle, then embellishing his report with fucked up mystery demon Pokemon was the ticket he needed.
I have to wonder if Terapagos is granting these wishes with the intent of taking something in exchange, or if this is simply the hand of fate punishing those who fly to close to the sun--even if they aren't even aware their wishes are actively being handled by another party.
A very interesting discussion can be had there, sadly we have this one dude who's been arguing about time travel for a year now.
