>>44408338No, I'm certain Nintendo will watch over them. They did in the past when pokémania was much bigger than today. And they don't do minor things, they were key contributors.
I blame the current state of the series quality to TPC's excessive intervention. That's understandable because most profit comes from merchandise sales and as a business it's working perfectly. But TPC owns only a part of GF while Nintendo owns another. And unlike TPC it's in Nintendo's core strategy to maintain a healthy videogame environment. If it was for TPC Pokémon would go mobile only, with competitive battling eliminated to decrease costs and only release cheap puzzle games and normie apps. Nintendo however wants to shill the Switch, their paid online services, collaborations like in Smash, etc and to do that they must keep the image of the franchise as a premium product to overprice the game cartridges as much as they can. TPC couldn't care less about that. Most of TPC, GF and Nintendo strategies with Pokémon are shared indeed but these are points were they have conflicting views. By getting physically closer to the Nintendo developers you can be sure they will be doing their part to manipulate GameFreak in ways that benefit gamers more than normies. And I don't mean Miyamoto specifically. I know he is senile by now, but there are tons of developers inside those walls. BotW was a great collaboration, and while I don't realistically expect anything to that level, it will sure be better than what we've had lately.
