The protagonist's short-term goal would be to not die (and hopefully survive long enough to beat the E4 and unlock the next region). Her long-term goal would be to catch every Pokemon (the Pokedex being the only 100% consistent thing between playthroughs) but the 'mon who cursed her, allowing her to find him, kill him, and get out of infinite region hell. The regions would be pretty drastically different (sparsely populated deserts, island chains, large islands with big cities), and completing quests in one world could affect how later games generate; for instance, completing a quest related to summoning Groudon in one playthrough would result in the next region being a lava-filled post-apocalyptic wasteland, with the goal of "beat the champion" being replaced with "find and capture Groudon, since there's nothing else to do here". There would be built-in tools for fast-forwarding, so you could ideally pick up the game and beat a small region in two-three hours if you were good enough. The protagonist would be moderately insane; NPCs would have trite stupid dialogue at the start, but over time would remember you and start to go crazy themselves as they realize they're living the same life over and over.
